Environmental Policy

Company Aim

Here at Bond Property Maintenance we are committed to reducing our emissions and our carbon footprint. Our aim is to improve the environment in the way we operate as a business, and our principles in relation to managing the environmental effects and aspects of its operations. BPM will work to integrate environmental considerations into our business and adopt a greener approach, providing alternatives where possible throughout our business activities.

In our working activities we aspire to comply with the following criteria:

  • A commitment to continuous improvement
  • Recognition of compliance with relevant environmental legislation as a minimum level of performance
  • Assess the environmental impact of all historic, current and likely future operations
  • The education and training of employees both self employed and approved subcontractors in the environmental issues and the environmental affects of their activities
  • Providing our employees, self employed and approved subcontractors, with information on the environmental standards and performance expected of them
  • Expect similar environmental standards from all suppliers and contractors
  • Assuring customers and the local community of commitment to demonstrate environmental management
  • Assist customers to use products and services in an environmentally sensitive way
  • Liaise with the local community
  • Participate in discussions about environmental issues
  • Reduce pollution, vehicle emissions and waste material
  • Reduce the use of all raw materials, energy and supplies
  • Reduce incidents that result in liability
  • Improve cost control

Office Aim

Operating from our office based in the Cathedral City of Canterbury we are committed to ensuring the day-to-day running of our business is complying with our environmental policy and minimising our impact on the environment.

We ensure that the following is also complied with:

  • Encouragement is given to employees to walk, cycle or use public transport when travelling to work
  • Where meetings are required, we encourage meetings to be held locally using the above suggested method where appropriate
  • Stationery purchased is mostly recyclable material
  • All waste paper is separated prior to refuse collection, where appropriate, and recycled
  • Card, cans and packaging is also recycled in the same manner
  • Office cleaners use green products
  • All computers, monitors, printers, scanners and faxes are switched off at the end of each working day
  • Printers and computer settings are pre-set to black print as default where appropriate
  • All ceiling and desk top lights are switched off at the end of each working day
  • All used Ink cartridge and batteries are recycled and disposed of at recycling centres

In achieving this, Bond Property Maintenance, and both self employed and approved subcontractors recognise that they must have a good understanding of the environment and the environmental impacts of their operations, and we all are responsible for the development of the objectives and targets for the reduction of any adverse impacts.

Monitoring of our progress and the review of environmental performance will be on a yearly basis.
